SOUND JOURNEY WORKSHOP
Yoga Lova is privileged to host fellow student and yogi, Emma Stevenson, for a unique sound journey meditation during November 2014.
This gorgeous meditation practice – see details below – will be combined with a beautiful Vinyasa Flow practice presented by Nadine to the meditative sounds of Emma’s music. The vinyasa practice will activate the body and mind in preparation for the deep stillness of Emma’s meditative journey.
What is a Sound Journey….
Hyperconnection - Google, Skype, Snapchat, Instagram, Ipod, Iphone, Ipad – I Want I Need Right Now !!! Solution – Disconnect to Consciously Reconnect with what matters in life.
According to neuroscientist, Dr Shanida Nataraja, westerners use the left hemisphere of their brain too much. Missing out on right brain activity results in too much Thinking: too much Frantic Doing, not enough time Being.
Practicing meditation in any form can bring about calmness, stilling the brain chatter, and help us shift towards right brain mode. In right brain mode the parasympathetic nervous system is activated – less adrenalin, less cortisol, less stress and better health.
But us westerners more often than not, put pressure on ourselves to be successful and "get there" quickly.
"Are we there yet?"
“Is my mind emptier than yours ?”
Thus, reinforcing our left brain approach.
The Solution - An Experience of Simply Being:
With specific soundwaves to alter your brainwave patterns (from Beta to Theta) and a guided meditation with Emma’s voice and Tibetan singing bowls, you will experience the ultimate connection - With You.
And in so doing will be able to consciously reconnect.

SELF PRACTICE WORKSHOP 2014
December holidays are fast approaching and although we all need a good break, we NEVER need a break from yoga. Yoga Lova’s Self Practice Workshop will provide you with all the tools you need to continue your practice throughout the holiday period.
Self-practice is the easiest way to integrate your yoga practice into your everyday life. Self-practice does not require good weather, gym membership, searching for suitable yoga classes or large open spaces. All you need is enough space for your yoga mat. This Self Practice Workshop will provide you with a comprehensive sequence plan to integrate your yoga practice into your life. Through self-practice you truly experience which yoga poses your body enjoys and which poses you avoid, and through continued practice how you are able to combine your likes and dislikes daily depending on your mood and state of mind.
The workshop will cover the following items:
- Various sun salutations
- Breakdown of the Vinyasa
- Standing yoga postures
- Seated yoga postures
- Various inversions
- Cooling down and Savasana
At the end of the workshop you will receive a Handbook with all of the above included. The workshop will inspire you to find your own joy, to create and sustain your own personal practice that you can use for the holidays and the rest of your life!!
Details for the workshop are as follows:
Date: Sunday November 30 2014
Time: 08h15 – 10h30
